  • NIPs or NIPT – is a test for fragments of fetal DNA that have passed from the placenta and circulate in the mother’s blood. It is recommended to test after 10 weeks of pregnancy onwards. This method is the most accurate screening method, up to 99.9%.
  • First trimester screening – includes the nuchal translucency (NT) test, pregnancy-associated plasma protein A (PAPP-A) test, and hCG hormone test. It is performed between 11 and 14 weeks of pregnancy (approximately the third month of pregnancy). The accuracy is approximately 90%.
  • Second trimester test , also known as Quadruple test – tests for 3 important substances: 1) alpha feto-protein (AFP), 2) chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), and 3) unconjugated estriol (uE3).
